About me

I work for a leading digital retailer in the UK and have spent the past 8 years working within the online web design space. I have a passion for UI and UX design, and love to flex my creative skills whenever possbile.

With the web changing so quickly and new trends poping up all the time, it is interesting to see what the future of the web holds and how they will shape sites in the future.

Interesting fact: I rescue wild hedgehogs too small or ill to hibernate during the winter and nurse them back to health!

Education

I studied Computer Science for four years which involved learning UX and UI design, programming (PHP and Java), software development, databases, MYSQL, project management and computer networks.

I completed four A-Levels at Hastingsbury. These were Information Technology (A), English Literature (B), English Language (B) and Sociology (C).

Employment

Creating high quality content and design across 58 white-labelled loyalty websites using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. My drive is to enhance the customer journey throughout each site by designing new concepts, creating prototypes and implementing them into Live. To improve customer engagement I analyse web trends and adapt them for client needs. I also manage the day to day runnings of argosforbusiness.co.uk and various marketing campaigns and adverts. I line manage a small team and project manage a variety of projects.

Designing inspiring content for 58 loyalty websites, promoting categories and special offers on specific schemes. Building bespoke catalogues and segmenting them based on member login levels. Working with Account Managers and clients to better the schemes and improve client-provided content. Line managing a small team, prioritising work-loads and delegating work requests. Co-project managing catalogue launch and project managing other small projects.

Planning and executing the monthly marketing plan, creating HTML content for WebSphere CMS and external pages; implementing third party catalogues and bespoke catalogues on relevant schemes, improving and managing housekeeping across 60 loyalty websites, manipulating and creating images using Photoshop, liaising with clients and completing client-based work requests. Analyse data using Google Analytics to spot web trends and monitor traffic, working closely with Account Managers and advising clients on best web practices.

Maintaining the website on a daily basis, managing Google AdWords, PPC, Merchant Centre, Analytics and Webmaster Tools. Dealing with any in-house IT issues. Designing and implementing content using CMS Actinic Ecommerce, using Actinic Epos to manage stock, deliveries and showroom orders. Maintaining and updating the telephone systems, Epos tills, local PC’s and SBS Server. Providing training to colleagues on the computer systems which involve using the till, taking mail or telephone orders (MOTO) and the live chat system, Kayako.
